As per the new regulation amending the Consumer Arbitration Committees Regulation (“the Regulation”) published in the Official Gazette dated April 10, 2020, to mitigate the effects of Covid-19, some amendments  have been made to prevent losses that may arise in relation to the working procedures and principles of consumer arbitration committees. Accordingly:

1) The meetings of the consumer arbitration committees convening not less than twice a month in accordance with the article 13/1 of the Regulation, will be temporarily suspended from April 10, 2020 until April 30, 2020 (including this date).

2) The time given to submit the information and documents requested in accordance with Article 12/3 of the Regulation, the time period given to the experts to prepare their reports in accordance with Article 21/2 of the Regulation, and the deadlines for notification of consumer arbitration boards decisions to the parties in accordance with Article 25/1 and Article 27/2 of the Regulation will temporarily freeze from March 13, 2020 (including this date) until April 30, 2020 (including this date). Additionally, if the deadlines for the submission of information and documents have remained fifteen days or less as of the start of the stopping period, these deadlines are considered to be extended for fifteen days, starting on the day following the end of the stopping period.
